We all love marshmallows, well the roots of the marshmallow were the original marshmallow sweet and the leaves used for soothing mucous membranes, ideal for recovery during colds and flu.

Traditionally, the marshmallow plant (Althaea officinalis) was used for its medicinal properties, primarily for its mucilaginous root and leaves, which soothed inflamed mucous membranes and relieved respiratory issues like coughs and sore throats, as well as digestive ailments.

To make a tea, simply steep 2 teaspoons of dried leaves and flowerheads in hot water overnight and heat and drink in the morning.
